When it comes to water, it is one of our most valuable resources. Truthfully, most of us don’t care about a water leak until it goes undetected and has massive impact to our lives (aka boil water notices, sewage leaks, etc.) At LEC, they create pressure monitoring and engineered solutions to solve exactly this problem.
When we first met the client, the website lacked cohesion and the quality level LEC maintains throughout the industry. With two clear user personas: stakeholders at water municipalities and linemen, that’s where we came in to help.
To update the brand and online presence, we began with the existing mark and built upon it with icon sets that speak to each solutions they provide and building out the color palette for greater breadth.
As we began discovery and research for the website design, our goals within the site were to bring clarity to the user both through hierarchy and copy. Previously the site was piecemealed together and lacked cohesion and overall flow. The copy would have only made sense to a seasoned engineer was utilized a dated tactic of keyword stuffing. Using the StoryBrand framework we created a narrative for each of the services they offer, remaining accessible to any user, showcasing both the breadth of work completed by LEC and where their partners remain the hero of the story.
