Alexa approached us with a full queue and to-do list for CRE615’s annual conference. Based on past years themes and DIY approach, she was looking for something bolder and unique in nature.
Before beginning layout design, our team started exploring ideas and unpacking the definition of “changemaker.” What does this look like in the current culture and climate? What are the defining elements of a changemaker and how can this be visually expressed? Where does this inform design thinking and proposed design solutions.
Our exploration phase brought us to unique insights and discovery. In Nashville, the market has both seen rapid growth and an homogenization of culture. Changemakers choose to think and see things differently. Driven by purpose they are bold, passionate and unapologetic about their beliefs.
Using the existing branding for CRE615, this summit’s theme allowed us to play with high contrast, bold typography and was designed for the attention economy. The result? A sold out venue and cohesive experience from social media marketing to lanyards at checkin and print booklets that offered both social media moments and a final call to action.
